Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Nov 28 signed an order assigning Defence Minister Sukumpol Suwanatat to be in charge of security affairs and the South situation.

ACM Sukumpol said his new assignment came after a change of officials in this field of work.

As for the security of teachers in the three southern border provinces, the defence minister said that in his view the chances for security problems to occur would be minimised if teachers followed instructions given by the authorities and did not put themselves at risk by travelling outside of designated routes.

Yes I understood she was going to take on the task.To put the Defence minister in charge surely gives the wrong impression to all concerned when diplomacy is neede

ACM Sukumpol said there were only about 3,000 villages with problems and it is all the victims fault.

His plan is to stop reporting for one month so his first month on the job=why so he can look good.

Pity about the victims. Note he is not visiting.
