Dems look to China for rice racket clues

The Democrat Party will seek China's help in uncovering alleged irregularities in a 5,000-tonne rice contract involving a Chinese trading firm.

Democrat spokesman Chavanond Intarakomalyasut said a letter will be sent to the Chinese embassy requesting details of the rice deal which came to light in the recent no-confidence debate.

Democrat MP for Phitsanulok Warong Dejkitwikrom alleged that GSSG Import & Export Corp, a China-based trading firm, might have been used as a front for Siam Indica Co, a Thai rice exporter, in an attempt to benefit from the government's rice-pledging scheme.

the Dems think they can request information as if they are the government. I think you actually have to be the government to obtain such information.

Discussion 3 mrsdonesh : the dems are asking every details of the rice deal and not only the price from the chinese government. Never in history will the chinese bureaucracy be so cooperative to provide such their so called "classified" information to other country when requested. Study more about the chinese culture and you'll be enlightened on this issue.

What classified information?????? Rice price details are freely available from several sources including oryza, indexmundi, rice online. The only classified information is how much is being skimmed off the top.
