Green group demands 3G answers

Green Politics Group coordinator Suriyasai Katasila said Monday five questions were raised by the Administrative Court's rejection of the Ombudsman's petition to halt the 3G licensing process and called on the people to consider them and help seek answers.

Mr Suriyasai was speaking after judges ruled that the Ombudsman was not an affected party and had no right to act as a plaintiff, so the case was rejected and removed from the filing list.

With the ruling, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) can go ahead and issue the licences within 90 days after the approval of the bidding process, or by Jan 19.

Green group=another faction of the yellow group that could not get along with anyone else=bureaucrats in a government operated business looking for a bigger piece of the tel com pie.

I am afraid your average Thai dose not understand how they were cheated out of there money and quite frankly remain ignorant of the facts.Therefore you may just as well get on with it and hope those who and I use the words cautiously, organised the 3G auction learn from there mistakes when setting up the long awaited 4G auction,although I some how doubt they will.

AT this point in time it would be better to move ahead with 4G rather than waste time on an outdated 3G.

Both rulings by the Administrative court were correct...

In the first case they ruled against individual complaints on the grounds that until the 2100 mhz 3G service is in operation people cannot complain about either price or services. Basically wait and see..

In this case, the Ombudsman is only allowed to file if the case was against the NBTC, not against the bid winners. That would have to be filed with the criminal court.
