Yingluck to visit South security staff

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra plans to visit the deep South on Thursday, said Suranand Vejjajiva, her secretary-general. The exact time and place have yet to be confirmed.

He said the prime minister wanted to follow up on the work of security officers in the region and give them moral support.

However, Ms Yingluck did not want her visit to burden already busy officials in the restive areas.

Do you have any proof of what you have said or is it just rehashed reports and "it must be true because a Thai told me".
Since 2001 there has been 2 1/2 years of the Democrats, 1 year under the Army coup and over 7 years of Thaksin and his proxy governments so where DID all the money go to? After all Thaksins lot were in power 3 times as long as the Democrats so what did THEY achieve when they were in power apart from Tak Bai, Khru Sai etc?

Before musashi and android start throwing allegations out, they should do some actual research and see many such projects were under TRT.

@ Discussion 6 I am no fan of that former Prime Minister, but the law has to be consistent. When a mob attempts to break into a jail to release prisoners the use of force up to and including lethal force is justified. Thaksin is no more responsible for this than Abhisit is for the deaths in 2010.

Discussion 2 musashi : to name a few examples...fake bomb detectors to detect real bombs, commercial usage air ships for military surveillance purpose. There aren't even armoured vehicles for combat soldiers, they use civilian purpose pickups and motor bikes for military tasks.

Hopefully very soon the PM who was in charge in 2004 when the atrocities (Kruse,Takbai) happened that started the whole mess in the south of Thailand will be held responible in the International Criminal Court (ICC) for these crimes against humanity.

the deep south is becoming a killing field,whilst on pm yingluck watch,most probaly in response to the brutial killings by her brother and what are they going to do,stop reporting and hopefully it will go away

The Dems and the army has treated the south like a virtual ATM machine. Despite the billions of Bht sent to the southern administrators, the army's secret military budget (ask Suruyud), internal security operational funds.. no progress has been made. It got worse actually.

It's time the south vote for the PTP. The Dems are clearly and hopelessly out of their depth.

Good for Yingluck She is nominally in charge of security in the country and is making an effort to do SOMETHING whereas the minister in charge, Chalerm Yubamrung has NEVER even been there. I doubt the Yingkuck will achieve anything but it WILL be a boost to the morale of the people down there.
