Dems decry hidden agenda

Abhisit wants stress on unity, not Thaksin

The government should move beyond its hidden agenda to whitewash ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and focus instead on bringing about national reconciliation, opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva says.

The Democrat Party leader said yesterday he believed most people in the country expect to see the Pheu Thai Party-led government get serious on resolving the key problems facing the nation.

"The best New Year gift the government could give the public is to defuse the conflicts surrounding the Thaksin issues, including its attempts to rewrite the charter and pass the unity bill to help him," Mr Abhisit said in a New Year address.

Thaksin this and Thaksin that, is the only thing the Democrats can come up with? No wonder no one votes for them.

They are the only people talking about Thaksin, if the opposition were not constantly saying his name, you would rarely hear it, probably 95% of the time that you hear a reference to Thaksin it is a statement from them. If they want the attention diverted away they should stop talking.

It would be refreshing to hear Pheu Thai MPs and Yingluck speak the truth for a change, and admit that their efforts and interest lie in bringing back the Boss nicely whitewashed and laundered clean and innocent. Everyone knows this is what it's all about. But then there is an unwritten rule about politicians, namely that you should believe the opposite of what they say.
