AV became the government illegally. First the 5 year ban on his opposition was stupid. Why did the party become illegitimate because of the actions of one man. When AV goes down his party will face the same ban for what he did. The process of his power came without an election from the people of Thailand so it is undemocratic just like AV and his undemocrates. Power corrupted him because he obtained the power and then wrote himself amnesty. Why foes he need amnesty if he did nothing wrong?

The only simpletons are supporting AV's lies. The red shirts were for the majority peaceful till the army got involved. The Dems needed to end the protests. AV finally offered an election but, the offer was not excepted because of the strings attached to the offer. If there were no strings attached the offer would have been accepted. AV attached these strings as he did not want to give up the power he had longed for. He new the offer would not be accepted if he attached the strings. So when you say the reds turned down the offer, it is not true. They turned down the conditions that were in the offer. Don't lie to change the history.

These two ex -officials don't deserved to be charge in court. These charges will go no where. All will end as headlines in the news papers but no one will be behind bar.

D33 Eric - methinks you forgot that Seh Daeng spoke openly about having trained forces, so therefore it can be surmised that there military style trained fighters within the ranks of the UDD. And within the UDD ranks there are many ex-military, ex-police, etc with full training in arms, fighting and killing. Give them guns and look out. The red mob was not all innocent babes

#40/43, "I KNOW that Abhisit and Suthep are smart enough not to sign that order". Are you telling that the numbers 1 and 2 of the Thai Gvt were not the true decision-makers? So you justify an investigation, the Thai people have to know who is responsible for the 1500 victims.
By an other way, if some so-called MIB really "were arrested" (despite their not effective "influential protection") it seems easy to know who are the others...

For all the conspiracy theorists who try to pretend that the MiB were government plants (despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary), why not consider the reverse?

Watermelon soldiers were much-lauded by the Red Shirt brigade during the protests. I clearly remember the confident predictions that soldiers wouldn't act against the protesters... (Until about midday on 19th May). What better way to discredit the Abhisit government by instructing watermelon soldiers to ignore orders and shoot anything that moved? For a group as brutal and thuggish as UDD, such an order would be quite credible.

Musashi, how on earth can you possibly claim that the 2010 Red Shirts rally was "huge but peaceful" ? How can you be so blind to what actually happened? During the rally and in it's aftermath ?

Only a Red Shirt could make the kind of statements that you do actually believing what you are saying.

I will say I have to admire your persistence in trying to make others who are more objective actually think the way you do ... but I guess time will tell, history will ultimately tell a much more balanced story.
