Veteran politician Sanan dies

Sanan Kachornprasart has died at Siriraj Hospital where he was being treated for emphysema for more than two months. He was 78.

Udom Kachintorn, dean of the hospital's faculty of medicine, said the veteran politician suffered from a severe blood infection and died peacefully at 5.09pm on Friday.

Maj Gen Sanan was admitted to the hospital on Nov 22 and had been on a respirator under close monitoring by doctors since then.

    Amazing, as to the effectiveness of the "Thaksin demonization campaign to justify a coup"........ Many take at face value, the coup conviction of the guy they booted. As if such a conviction had validity....... Never mind the Democracy destructive effect of a coup by those who could not win an election. That seems to be OK. ...........The influence of the pro-coup/PAD-Dem media over linguistically challenged Farangs is truly astounding
