The Democrat Party has demanded the government explain queries surrounding five controversial issues in the amnesty bill which passed its first reading in the House last week, Democrat MP Ong-art Klampaibul said yesterday.
First, he said, the contents of the bill are vague as the beneficiaries of the bill are unclear. It must be explained whether the bill would cover suspects on such charges as terrorism and lese majeste.
Second, the period of time in which people are entitled to be covered by the bill must be changed so as not to benefit certain groups.
