The House of Representatives has passed Section 4 of the 2014 Budget Bill in its second reading, with a vote of 291-126, plus 14 abstentions and two "no votes".
Section 4 of the bill relates to the central fund from which the prime minister is authorised to approve spending.
The Prime Minister's Office initially proposed a sum of 345,459 million baht for the fund. This amount was slashed by 2,328 million baht in the first reading of the Budget Bill, down to 343,131 million baht.
Deputy House Speaker Wisuth Chainaroon, who chaired the House meeting, called for MPs in the chamber to vote on Section 4 of the bill at 1.50pm.
When a bill is in its second reading, MPs are required to be deliberate and vote on the legislation section by section.
