NSC differs on CCTV torching

The torching of security cameras in Yala province on Sunday night was a normal tactic of insurgents, who have begun targeting equipment installed by the government because it has becoe harder for them to attack individuals, National Security Council chief Paradorn Pattanathabutr said on Wednesday.
Lt Gen Paradorn said arson could be taken as a sign of preparation for major attacks in the future, so the Yala governor had invited security officers to a meeting to lay down preventive measures.
Security patrols would be stepped up, he said.
