Isoc officers accused of smuggling Rohingya

Fourth Army commander Lt Gen Udomchai Thammasaroraj has set up a panel to investigate whether two commissioned officers were involved in the alleged trafficking of Rohingya migrants.

The officers hold the rank of major and lieutenant, an army source said.

They are attached to the Internal Security Operations Command's (Isoc) 4th Region Forward Command.

Next people will be claiming traffic cops ask for bribes and even that one or two former PMs were corrupt!

Can any sane, informed person believe such tales?

"Foreign Ministry spokesman Manasvi Srisodapol urged the international community to join Thailand in seeking a solution for the Rohingya migrants who have fled Myanmar and who are now being held in the South."

The 'solution' is to press Burma into treating the Rohinga like people and respecting their human rights. The Rohinga wouldn't be in Thailand if the Burmese authorities didn't treat them like vermin and persecute them. The Thai government won't admonish Burma, of course, because there are too many rich and powerfull Thais who are profiting from their cozy relationship with the Burmese regime.
