Thai authorities do not have to finish considering the five demands issued by the Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) separatist movement before the next meeting with the insurgent group on Oct 20, National Security Council secretary-general Paradorn Pattanatabut said on Tuesday.

"The security and academic sectors are jointly looking into the BRN's demands before they are be forwarded to the Council of State for deliberation," Lt Gen Paradorn said. "There's no rush and it's not necessary to finish deliberating them before Oct 20."
