SRT governor's selection questioned

The Office of the Ombudsman has been asked to investigate the legality of the selection and appointment of Prapat Chongsa-nguan as new governor of the State Railway of Thailand.

The request was filed with the office by Nakhon Machim, a Democrat Party MP for Phitsanulok.

The cabinet recently approved the Transport Ministry's appointment of Mr Prapat as the new SRT governor.

The SRT is a dinosaur .Scrap it and start again .

Doesn't anybody check before making these appointments, it would save a vast amount of further investigation and court time.

Is anyone at all in the Thai government qualified for their job? Anyone? Or is cronyism more important than qualifications?
