Dawei transport bill estimated at B48bn

The Transport Ministry says it will need 48 billion baht to complete a transport network linking Myanmar's Dawei deep-sea port and industrial estate with Laem Chabang port in Chon Buri.

The development scheme would include motorways, rural roads and two rail links, Transport Minister Chadchat Sittipunt said.

The ministry is seeking endorsement for the 96km Bang Yai-Nakhon Pathom-Kanchanaburi motorway and is conducting an environmental impact assessment on another highway that will stretch 80km from Kanchanaburi to Myanmar, he said.
