20 traffic webcams for Bangkok

Bangkok traffic police plan to install 20 new cameras linked over the internet throughout the metropolitan area to improve monitoring of traffic and detection of law breakers, Traffic Division deputy chief Worasak Nopsittiporn said on Tuesday.

    They will give a little more advance notice of a motorcyclist approaching the police without a helmut. Monitoring is not the answer to traffic problems, rigid law enforcement is.

    How about specials teams to force the plods to turn on the automatic traffic lights, then they can fine red light jumpers with everyones support.

    Today , at the Asoke Petchaburi intersection ,the lights went from red to green to red in 10 seconds. The officers girlfriend was going shopping.

    The police would have more luck catching law breakers if they just got out of their air-conditioned boxes and started policing.
