CHICAGO — Lance Armstrong said he finally cracked after he saw his son defending him against allegations from anti-doping authorities.

The crackup came not while expressing deep remorse or regrets, though there was plenty of that in Friday night's second part of the disgraced cycling champion's interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Armstrong didn't break over the $75 million in lost sponsorship deals, or after being forced to walk away from the Livestrong cancer charity he founded and called his "sixth child." He didn't crack after his lifetime ban from competition.

D1: I'm inclined to agree with you. Maybe the cycling world is more akin to the cocaine fueled worlds of the NFL and MLB of the 1980s.

Too bad for Lance. He lied for so long. Why should anyone believe him now. Quite touching about his son but this time I must say I don't believe it. He played his game and lost, that's it game over. Far too little too late. Maybe he should consider taking up politics in Thailand. Sob, sob, it was an honest mistake.

Poor Lance, if only he had a law to make it illegal for pesky types who think opinions should be well founded and reputations deserved to go around recklessly seeking and then wantonly making true statements.

Heroes should be kept in tact on pedestals, strictly protected by veils of blissful ignorance lest opinion be of some worth.

There should be law against such wanton truth telling.

All his life, Armstrong denied the charges against doping to keep his fortune intact. Now he is on a PR campaign. It is reminding me of Bill Clinton who finally had to accept the charges of adultery when Monica Lewensky produced sperm tainted jacket that confirmed his DNA. It also reminds me of Tiger Wood who always rejected sex allegations against him.

These so-called famous people will admit things when their back is against the wall.

Its pretty sad the way everyone wants a piece of Lance until the chips are down and they burn him at the stake .It sounds like the whole tour dopes .Where is their condemnation?
