They're victims already, why humiliate them?

It was a room full of adults, mostly male. Voices gave instructions and made comments, fingers pointed and camera shutters clicked.

The 12-year-old girl stood in the middle, almost naked, her only garment her underpants In a room full of adults, mostly male. They stared and pointed at her mutilated body.

A pair of female hands probed her, parting the hair on her head, revealing more scars. The woman lifted up the unfortunate girl's arms, her legs and her feet, voice describing each injury to the surrounding men.

Why has someone not stepped forward and offered a large bounty on the heads of these people and all those who aided and abetted them? Thailand is losing its soul, its Buddhist roots.

"Are you Thai? Are you here for good or evil?" from the film Buddha's Lost Children. The title could soon describe this entire nation.

Where were the police for 7 years when she needed them most? With cameras in sight the police are aplenty. With no cameras in sight years and years of torture. The police have absolutely nothing to be proud of here.

Did you watch the You Tube, if so you would have heard one of those "police" saying over and over "does it hurt child" as if he cared how she felt.

These "police " are the same ones that allowed the people that caused this horror to apply for bail. Everyone blames the courts but the fact is if they were not asked they would not grant it. The police can deny bail. The police do this on rare occasions usually concerning farangs.

This is by far the most horrible thing I have seen in my six years here...and there were some dreadful things happening. There is so much wrong with this case -starting with the crime itself, the bail for those monsters and in the end, the parading of the victim. But make no mistake: this is following a terrible logic. She was Karen...not Thai! In the same way, the names, professions or whereabouts of FARANG rape victims are published. See the patern?

All the newspapers will say is trot out the public's right to know. Actually I don't need to know any of this until the two perpetrators are caught and locked up, then I may want to know why they were locked up. Freedom of the press is a vastly misused phrase, witness the silence on all the political skullduggery that this paper and others have been sweeping under the carpet for decades.

one is an engineer and another is the owner, both of them are educated individuals. I think the education doesn't help them realize the word "human". Globally, current society tend to be more dengerous which is totally different from the past. i still have a question curiously what makes people change alot from the past.

"Why couldn’t the photographs have been taken privately and discreetly by a female social worker?" For the same reason evidence isn't sent to police property stores or forensic institutes by courier - integrity of the photos/evidence.

No publication "provided" with photos taken by a third party can guarantee the image is original, current or even pertains to the person being described.

A basic rule of journalism: If not seen it can't be attested to as being real - something you, Voranai, if a professionally trained journalist, would be fully aware of and if not, I suggest you talk to your publications legal department.

I disagree with most of the commentators. The gravity of the offence against the poor girl is enormous and unimaginable. So much beyond privacy. The photos is not even enough to convince me that this kind of thing can happen in real life. Is this madness? Is this sadism? Is this wickedness? Is this witchcraft? How can someone harm an innocent child in most inhuman way? How can both husband and wife have the same evil inclination? This looks like a horror movie, I wouldn't believe this unless I see that girl with my own eyes and also those devil-incarnate couple. This should even be well documented in history to avoid it happening again.

Not sure if the photo printed yesterday was at the same meeting, otherwise they seem to have learned that exhibiting this poor child was in very bad taste. The picture yesterday showed the girl with a cap covering her face and a doctor holding a towel in front of her naked chest. I do sincerely believe that the 'picture telling a thousand words' is that which has had the government cover her medical bills.

As to this bail, how much did this wicked couple pay the police to let them go in the first place? Will any police be brought to book on this? Think I already know the answer to that one.
