Yingluck to visit Japan Wednesday

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will visit Japan from Wednesday until Saturday to discuss bilateral economic relations and attend an international conference, Government House announced.

Ms Yingluck will meet Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and have an audience with Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito on Wednesday.
She will discuss strengthening bilateral relationships with Prime Minister Abe, try to raise the confidence of Japanese investors in using Thailand as a production base, and promote Thailand as strategic economic partner with Japan.
Obstacles faced by Japanese investors and cooperation on the development of the Dawei deep sea port in Myanmar will also be up for discussion.
Ms Yingluck will on Friday address the 19th Future of Asia conference, co-hosted by the Nikkei and Japan Center for Economic Research, on the topic "Investing in the Future of Asia". She will portray Asia as a strong and growing region, the statement said.
She will be accompanied by a delegation from the private sector, especially representing small and medium companies and One Tambon One Product (OTOP) producers. They will study product development and distribution channels .
