Swiss watchmaker Omega opened its new boutique at The Emporium and unveiled new models in its classic Ladymatic collection at a special event called "La Nuit Enchantee" last week.

The space in front of the new boutique was transformed into a romantic ballroom elaborately decorated with trees, butterflies and pink flowers to resemble an enchanted forest. Beautiful stands housing the new bi-colour Ladymatic timepieces dotted the ballroom. "The Ladymatic has always been at fashion's forefront with its feminine design and state-of-the-industry mechanics," noted Busara Tantiwarathaworn, Omega brand manager of Swatch Group Trading (Thailand). "Now, with the introduction of the enduring combination of 18k gold and stainless steel as well as the eye-catching pink and pale blue versions, the entire collection has become even more striking."
The Ladymatic model was first launched in 1955 and was one of the first watches Omega made specifically for women. The new Ladymatic models are inspired by some characteristics of its ancestors, but cleverly combines an elegant and timeless design with the latest innovative technology.
The dramatic dial, available in deep brown or pure white mother-of-pearl, is decorated with an enchanting supernova pattern and set with 11 diamond indexes in 18k gold holders. The polished hour, minute and second hands are also crafted from 18k gold. A domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides protects the unique dial.
At the heart of this feminine wristwatch is the exclusive Co-Axial calibre 8520, an officially certified chronometer fitted with an Si14 silicon balance spring and a Co-Axial escapement with three levels. The watch is water resistant to 100m and is fitted with a patented bracelet. "The new Ladymatic models look as striking and elegant as Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman, who has been the 'face of Ladymatic' since its international debut in 2010," added Busara. "To introduce these new models, Nicole Kidman is featured in our global multi-media campaign, while the photographs used in the print advertisements are taken by fashion photography legend Peter Lindbergh whose works have been published by every major international fashion magazine for over 30 years."
The new Ladymatic models are now available in Thailand. View them at Omega boutiques at The Emporium (tel 02-664-9550) and Siam Paragon (tel 02-129-4878).
