Italian virtuoso Patrizio Cerrone will give a piano recital as part of the "Sunday 4 O'Clock at Sala Sudasiri Sobha" concert series on Sept 8.
Italian pianist Patrizio Cerrone will perform at Sala Sudasiri Sobha on Sept 8 at 4pm.
Presented by the Gift of Life Foundation, the concert will feature a two-part programme which starts with Chopin compositions such as Nocturne Opus 62, No.1, Etude Opus 10 No.5, Grande Valse Brillante Opus 34 No.1 and Scherzo Opus 39.
The second half will be Beethoven's Sonata No.32 Opus 111.
A founding member of the ensemble Spettro Sonoro and Sinfonietta di Roma, Cerrone frequently plays music of the 20th century.
Many composers have written for him, including Alandia, Zimmermann and Clementi who dedicated Madrigale to him and which Cerrone played for the first time on Italian television. The Rome native has played for the most important Italian festivals and has given recitals with the country's leading orchestras.
He records for Edipan, RAI Italian Radio-Television and Spanish RTVE. He has been invited to play in Argentina, Middle-East, Spain, Croatia, Hungary and Germany.
Since 1981 Patrizio has been a professor of piano at Italian conservatories and at present he teaches piano at the F Morlacchi Conservatory in Perugia. Tickets for the concert cost 500 baht. Seats are limited. Proceeds will go towards the Gift of Life Foundation to help needy blood disease patients. Sala Sudasiri Sobha concert hall is located on Lat Phrao Soi 41 Yaek 7-4.
