Sois Mahatlek Luang 1 and 2 are each just a couple of hundred metres long. But these connecting short lanes off Ratchadamri Road boast a number of upscale hotels and apartments.
The Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok is one of the properties sharing this exclusive location. Offering 316 guestrooms in four types which range in size from 30-32m2 (Deluxe) to 85-91m2 (One-bedroom Suite), the 15-storey hotel has Marriott-standard accommodation for both leisure and business travellers at affordable prices.
All expected amenities are available. The bathroom is small but had everything you needed, minus a bathtub. Wheelchair rooms and wheelchairs are available upon request. The swimming pool opens till 11pm, while the fitness and business centres can be used round the clock.
The breakfast buffet offers an impressive selection, from breads, fruits and fresh juices to Eastern and Western dishes, each of which comes with a sign telling you what meat is in it. I found the taste rather mild though.
The hotel has an in-house spa called The Mood located on the mezzanine floor.
