The Tourism and Sports Ministry will launch the "Kok Kak Tour" campaign to promote domestic travel.
According to Tourism and Sports Minister Somsak Pureesrisak, "kok" refers to a knocking sound. "It refers to me knocking on the gates of each province," he said. "Kak" is the sound of the gates opening. It refers to the governor opening the gates to welcome visitors.
Under the "Kok Kak Tour" campaign, the minister will introduce interesting and unseen attractions to travellers. The minister said the project will highlight other places of cultural or historical interest and unseen destinations in each province, such as a coffee shop regularly visited by former prime minister Banhan Silapa-archa, he added.
