The Transport Company of the Department of Land Transport plans to relocate the Bangkok Bus Terminal (Morchit 2).
The Bangkok Bus Terminal is to be relocated.
Company board chief Somchai Siriwattanachoke said the present station is too small to handle the increasing number of passengers. In addition, there is a problem of traffic congestion in and around the terminal. The company rented the 70 rai on Kamphangphet Song Road from the State Railway of Thailand to operate the terminal in 1998. The terminal serves around 170,000 buses and about 30 million passengers a year.
